HomeGauge upgrades their office and announces the integration of American Home Warranty for all Gold and Platinum users!

American Home Warranty First, the exciting news for all inspectors uploading inspection reports!

Now, with a click of the mouse, you can send your American Home Warranty info straight from your uploaded report! It will automatically create the AHW 90 day certificate and post it as a separate document right beside your report, with the customer's name, inspection address, etc. From there, you can edit viewing permissions for those intended to see the warranty. You can keep track and buy new credits with just a few clicks.

Some anticipated FAQs answered: Your customers and agents do not see the AHW logo at their report, or the certificate, unless you assign a warranty to their report and give them permission to view it. Those of you not using AHW will see the logo and the link to "Sign Up" at each uploaded report, but customers and agents don’t see it. They see what they normally see, unless you assign them a warranty. When you do assign a warranty, those you have given permission to view it will see the certificate.

Not using AHW? In today’s economy every marketing niche counts! For $17, not only can you help protect your name and liability, you can also get more marketing power by advertising a protected inspection! Advertising a 90 day warranty on your business cards or ads can go a long way in helping a customer choose your company. Depending upon your area and the economy, buyers are fewer than normal, and they are looking for value. Separate yourself from the next inspector. One more leg up is often enough to get the job when a buyer is comparing inspectors. Step up to the level of franchises that already offer a warranty and offer one too! Now you can and it is hassle free. Click to add a warranty and it’s done!

Getting started is easy. At your next uploaded report, click the “Sign Up” link or logo and we fill in most of your contact info for you! Click the agree button and purchase 1, 3, 10 or however many warranties you need. Next... Start advertising a protected inspection with a 90 day home warranty! Add it to your website, business cards and ads. This is worthy of as big of a release to your agents as you want! Announce it to your agents that your company offers additional protection on your inspections. This is a 90 day warranty and can only complement the full year warranty that some agents provide. Those agents can offer double warranties with your 90 day and their one year warranty.

The warranty credits are purchased through PayPal from ahomewarranty.com, but you can use a regular credit card and do not need to sign up for a PayPal account.


HomeGauge has moved

HomeGauge has moved to a 4000 square foot office in downtown Asheville. This extra space includes a large training room that easily fits 25 people. Expect some extra training offers for all types of classes in the future. It also has an outdoor courtyard that will be great for food and HG events. Please feel free to drop by and say hello if you are passing through. This is also a great time to key in our direct number on your cell phone. When using your cell phone, call us at 828-254-2030. Here’s where we are -- we are the building at the end of the cul de sac.

Our office is the last stop of the Asheville Historical Trolley Tour. We are located at the River Arts District (#9 on the tourist map). Close to 100 people a day from all over the US and Canada see the HomeGauge sign and relate it to finding a home inspector.

What are you doing in your spare time to create new business?

If the phone is not ringing, do you sit around and wait, or do you shake the bushes? Here are some more marketing strategies:

  1. Increase the value of your company and image. When times are slow or tough, it is not the time to skimp on value. How can you add more value to your company? Be active, join your local Board of Realtors and go to their functions. Ask to have a table (sponsor it if you need to) and set out sample reports, business cards, and flyers. Leave a tent card at each inspection. Take two agents out for lunch at the same time. Stop by each real estate office with some gourmet popcorn, or something similar, with your business cards taped on it. Call up your 5 favorite agents and do a free listing inspection, just because you care about that agent.
  2. Work on yourself! Add some content to your website! Add a page called "Compare Us With Our Competition". On it, educate the buyer that asking how much should not be the first question, but the last. What they should ask first is (then insert your strengths, training, experience, type of report, with pictures, 90 day warranty, etc.). New inspectors can skip the experience part and relate their training or background.
  3. Mortgage brokers and closing attorneys should know you. Send them your info too!
  4. Offer Radon testing and buy a truck with the profits! If you are not adding radon testing to your company’s services, you could be losing a few hundred dollars a month.
