The HomeGauge Protect Inspection Guarantee covers key mechanical and structural items in the home. If they should fail within their coverage period, your customers can submit a claim to be reimbursed for repairs to those items.

How do I purchase HomeGauge Protect for my customers?
Once you have the program enabled for your account, Inspection Guarantees will be purchased automatically on your behalf for every residential inspection report uploaded to your dashboard.
What are the full coverage details of HomeGauge Protect?
For HomeGauge Protect 100, the coverage period is 100 days from the date of your inspection or the first 30 days after closing on your home, whichever is later.
For HomeGauge Protect 30, the coverage period is 30 days after closing.
Limit of Liability refers to the maximum individual payout for each claim on that item. Consumers can make multiple claims during the product’s term. However, the product pays a maximum of $2,500 in aggregate over the term of the Inspection Guarantee.
How much does HomeGauge Protect pay out for my customers?
HomeGauge Protect pays a maximum of $2,500 in total for claims made during the term.
HomeGauge Protect will reimburse customers for qualifying repairs up to a limit on a per-item basis. Please see the table in the FAQ above for full details.
Are there any costs to my customers to use HomeGauge Protect?
Nope!
There are no out-of-pocket costs for your customers to get this benefit! There are no deductibles or administrative fees!
Will my customers get unsolicited sales/marketing calls if I use HomeGauge Protect?
Nope!
No third parties will contact your customers with promotional offers.
The program also has a 24/7 support line available. Customers might receive calls from customer service to ensure claims are approved and paid in a timely manner.
What is my cost to offer HomeGauge Protect?
HomeGauge Protect 100 costs $22 per inspection. HomeGauge Protect 30 costs $11 per inspection. Participating inspectors tell us this cost is worth the peace of mind and value they offer their buyers and real estate agents. Many have added a markup on inspections to cover this benefit.
Do I have to purchase HomeGauge Protect on every job?
HomeGauge Protect will be purchased on every qualifying inspection for inspectors in the program. If you believe a specific property isn’t a good fit, simply submit a return form within 48 hours to exclude that report from the guarantee.
What is a qualifying inspection?
You will only get charged for uploaded inspections that are defined in the software as a home inspection report.
Any inspection uploaded while the HG Protect setting is enabled will be billable. If you ever decide to disable HG Protect, you will not be billed for future Inspection Guarantees on uploaded inspections.
Can I get refunded for HomeGauge Protect on a property?
Yes, our inspectors have the flexibility to choose the right customers for HomeGauge Protect. We allow refunds in Inspection Guarantees up to 30 days after the inspection date for HomeGauge Protect 100 and for up to 7 days after the inspection for HomeGauge Protect 30, as long as no claim has been filed.
Please note that HomeGauge Protect documents will be sent to the customer 3 days after the inspection report is uploaded. Submit your refund/return request within 48 hours to prevent customers from receiving these documents.
We support refunds/voids for:
- New construction/manufacturer’s warranty
- Commercial properties
- Real estate deal falls through
- Customer indicates a lack of interest
We may also consider a refund that makes sense in other scenarios.
How does billing work?
Every 2 weeks, the HomeGauge billing team will count up the number of Inspection Guarantees purchased from the previous 2 weeks, subtract any refunds, and execute the charge on the credit card on record.
You will be invoiced every other Wednesday for the prior two weeks’ usage (Mon – Sun).
