July 2021 Product Update

Thank you for catching up with us and our July Product Update, brought by our Head of Product, Mike Rogers.

We have some exciting updates this month, as many new features are dropping across our suite.

Let’s jump straight in. Today, we’ll be covering the following:

• Continued companion updates, next round of planned enhancements
• Web Writer Mobile beta testing
• Texas templates
• Launch of new advisory council and how you can nominate someone

Companion App Beta

The updated companion camera is now live in the latest version on Android. Beta users gave great feedback regarding adding a zoom and a torch. We added those features and are now looking for the next round of improvement ideas.

It’s not all Android-related. For iPhone users out there we’re working on various improvements to the iOS version and will be working on bringing the “Find next unanswered” feature back as soon as we can.

Texas Templates

As discussed last month, we’ve been working hard with the folks at TREC to ensure that we support the latest formats in Web Writer and our Desktop versions. For Web Writer, we’re taking a bit of a different approach. We wanted to enable you to separate the way an inspection is completed from the way a report is delivered.

Now you can complete a TX inspection the same way you would any other. The only difference is the print template you select when you publish it. You can publish the same inspection in multiple different formats in seconds.

Advisory Council

We’ve set up an Advisory Council of influential industry folks and valued customers. The mission of the council is to help guide HomeGauge as we support inspectors and the wider industry for the next 20 years. Invites are at the discretion of HomeGauge and based largely on nominations from within the industry. If you know someone you think would be ideal please pass their details along to productfeedback@homegauge.com.
