With all of the excitement that comes along with home shopping, I believe many people overlook the importance of having their future home inspected before committing. Many people trust their "buddy" agent or the seller's agent to provide the knowledge they need regarding the structure, wiring , etc. I know couples in my age group often rely on their father or grandfather (who has always been had with a hammer) to "okay" the property for them. People, YOU NEED A CERTIFIED HOME INSPECTOR. Now, I have bought and sold many homes , and will tell you first hand- not all inspectors are created equal. Many home inspectors lack the knowledge, equipment and integrity to do a thorough job in protecting the buyer. Michael Shaver is one you can trust. He is punctual, honest, thorough knowledgeable and prepared. He will treat you like family and inspect the home as if he were the one buying it. The home inspection was by far the most complete and open home inspection process our family has ever been involved with as home buyers. We have purchased and sold three homes over the years while serving in the military. In one of our previous purchases our family incurred significant financial loss in order to make the home safe and sound for our family. These issues should have been easily caught by a knowledgeable and competent home inspector. We now know how important a proper home inspection is to a family undertaking a large financial investment to provide a safe environment for their family. Therefore, this should never be a check the box process in order to make a quick buck, or just to enable the purchase of a home to move forward.
