Daniel from Blue Ridge Home Inspections was a life saver and worth every single penny. I bought new construction so was fortunate enough to have his expertise weigh in on 2 inspections. For the pre-drywall inspection Daniel made sure "The Bones are Good" on this new house. By sheer luck, he was finishing his walkthrough when the builder was showing up and Daniel pointed out some major things, even before his offical report was written up, and is one of the main reason why many issues were addressed before our drywall went up. After we got our Certificate of Occupancy, once again, Daniel came out right away and wrote up another thorough report that pointed out even more issues. I have no doubt that if I hadn't had Blue Ridge Home Inspections inspect my home before I bought it, I'd have many issues soon after. If you are looking for a home inspector who is honest, straightforward, thorough, and truly on your side, look no further than Daniel Fine of Blue Ridge Home Inspections. In looking for our first house together, my husband and I quickly learned that there are people who will gladly take your money while giving you the bare minimum of service. They may be bending the truth, omitting issues, or simply not taking the time and care to do a thorough job. Let me be very clear right now that Daniel Fine is not this kind of person. Daniel has been one of the best parts of our home search experience so far. His integrity is something you just do not see every day. He is incredibly knowledgeable. He understands the systems of a house and will give you a picture of the house’s condition and context, not just a checklist of whether or not the house has a heating system or plumbing. For example, an inspector could say “roof shingles show pitting. Consult a roofing specialist.” Alternatively, an inspector could say “The hip and valley style roof has 3 tab shingles with some pitting and appears to be 15-20 years old. This type of shingle can typically be expected to last 20-25 years. Though no leaks were found, maintenance is recommended including [list of specific suggestions here].” He will put in the work that a home inspector should, and then some. We will continue to use Daniel as we search for our first home in WNC, and we have faith we will have a good understanding of any home that we find because of people like him. In this market, buyers do not have time or resources to waste. Hire this guy, whether you are relocating from Oregon or simply moving one street closer to town. He won’t steer you wrong. And to any homeowners or sellers out there - this is the inspector for you, too. If you want to best understand your house’s condition, consult Daniel Fine. He knows what he is talking about and will provide you with a level of service you will be more than satisfied with. He is loyal to his client, and outstanding in his work. Daniel was extremely thorough and Professional. I had a few questions and concerns about buying this home, Daniel was personable and willing to make sure I understood everything. He walked through things that would need to be done and (when I ask) gave an estimated time frame I would want to have it done by. I had a VA Loan so he did the water test required for that too. Best $ I spent in this whole money grabbing home buying process. I highly recommend him for your home inspection and will use again myself If I need to. Also loved the fact he gives a veterans discount, just ask for it.
