We hired Mel Knight to inspect our home prior to putting it on the real estate market. We already knew him through our past association in Scouting adult leader training, so we knew he was trustworthy and hard-working --- a man of good character. He is polite, congenial and pleasant, intelligent and extremely knowledgeable. He explains things in a clear and comprehensive manner and is never condescending, taking time to make sure that we understood concepts and information he was telling us. His background as an architect gave us assurance that our house was found to be sound and any potential issues we needed to address weren't frivolous and unnecessary. Mel spent the entire morning going over our home with a fine-tooth comb and we received Mel's very complete and detailed report via email that very evening, complete with clear photographs and descriptions of what he'd found and suggestions to mitigate any problems. Very gratifying! Mel is the consummate professional and it was an absolute pleasure to have him work with us. We feel a lot better knowing we can get our home on the market with any problems identified so they can be taken care of ahead of time, thus giving our buyer confidence. Mel Knight was very thorough in his inspections of our new home. Examined every aspect of the house from the roof shingles to trim moldings around the kitchen cabinets. Made sure everything worked as designed (ie: windows, doors, locks,..etc.). When issues were found, Mel took pictures and documented the problem and possible solution needed to fix the issue. We would not hesitate to use Mel Knight again in the future.
