Cardinal Home Inspections

To begin with, Cardinal Home Inspection has a great website filled with information, pricing, options, and sample reports. Rodney Whitehouse did my inspection. He was thorough in his four-hour inspection while being willing to stop and answer questions I had. At times he would call me over and point out a deficiency or show me why a particular item was an excellent feature or address the life expectancy of a component. I received the 54-page report the next day. It was thorough in the description of deficiencies accompanied by pictures. It addressed defects found in the roofing, plumbing, insulation and ventilation, along with three structural components found in the crawlspace. I also ordered a Mold Inspection Report, which is obtained by special equipment to detect moisture readings along with tape and air samples, which were analyzed for mold. The report gave the lab results of the mold type, the spore level, the location, and the recommended action for remediation. The home inspection brought to my attention high-cost issues, which were “invisible” to me. It reinforced for me the consequential importance of a professional home inspection that identified things that were significantly deficient, unsafe, near the end of their service life, or not functioning properly. I would certainly use Cardinal Home Inspection again and I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of a home inspection. Rodney went above and beyond the call of duty. He answered the phone after hours on Tuesday evening and agreed to drive to Beaufort on Wednesday and complete the report that evening so we could still keep the 10:30 AM closing on Thrs morning. There was an incomplete question on the report and he made the necessary correction and send the amended report by the closing on 10:30 on Thrs. I will keep his information for any future referrals.
