Loren is an affable and funny guy, but the main reason I took an immediate liking to him is because he's the only inspector who spoke up (unprompted) about the fact that he likes having buyer accompanying with him during the inspection process. This did not happened with any of the other 5 inspectors I was considering and spoke to. So if you are like me, willing and interested in learning more about the goods and bads of the home you are likely going to be buying and end up staying in the near future, and want to know about home operation, improvement and maintenance tips, then Loren will be a perfect fit for you. A 3-4 hours interaction with him is enough for me to know that he's incredibly experienced, thorough and competent in his job, and I feel very blessed and fortunate to have him, especially because the home I am planning to buy is a "flip" house. Loren was great, I did some searching around before contacting him and all the reviews were true. He showed up 15 minutes early and was very professional. Loren came out and checked every nook and cranny. The house a little older but very well maintained. Loren was able to tell me what sort of maintenance would be needed to take care of the house and recommended what would need to be upgraded and the timeframe if I chose to purchase the house. I was looking to get a VA loan and he was able to tell me exactly what would need to be fixed for the house to pass their inspection. He also did a pest inspection for me, for free on the spot. I was a little unsure of exactly what to look out for before making an offer on this house and Loren was able to answer all my questions and help me out. He is very personable and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to get a really thorough inspection.

Loren first was on time to our appointment, which tells me a lot about a person. In his inspection, he covered I could imagine. He performed a through inspection on our home. Afterwards he went over the complete itemized report so we knew just what he found in discrepancies on our home. He also listed fixes with each areas of concern. After leaving the next day I received a full report(with pictures)of all things in question. I have no problem recommending for your house inspection.

Loren was early to the appointment and exceeded my expectations throughout the inspection pointing out areas of concern and educating us about regular maintenance. He is very thorough and knew the code. Loren went above and beyond the inspection of our new home. Our home was recently inspected and the inspector pointed out a major concern with potential water behind the shower tile. Loren pointed out that the inspector was using the wrong meter and offered to come to my house and use a infrared camera to see if there was really water behind the tile. He also provided a report. I would highly recommend Loren Chewning of Summit to Sound Inspection Services. My husband and I were interested in an older home that had been fully remodeled on the inside, so visually it was nice. However, Loren discovered some major issues with roof ventilation that had caused the roof to be near failure despite the new shingles covering it. There were several other issues that he caught as well, that while most were minor, all needed attention. I appreciated that he wanted me there for the inspection; this is a huge investment and knowing what we were getting into was important to us. Loren was very knowledgeable, personable, and an amazing resource for information. I felt that if we had decided to go through with the sale, my husband and I would have had all the information we needed to repair/replace items and maintain the home properly based on Loren?s information.
