Deryck is a knowledgeable, patient and thorough inspector. After his inspection, he walked me through the issues he uncovered and clearly explained the critical aspects. More importantly, he took time to point out additional items and updates that I should consider to improve/maintain the property. His detailed report included excellent pictures to illustrate the issues and needed repairs. The report also clearly differentiated between priority and other items. Deryck's inspection was extremely thorough & professional. His electronic report was easy to follow and understand. The accompanying pictures were excellent, refreshed my memory and showed me areas which I was unable to access, i.e. the roof and attic. The property inspected was architecturally unique, built in the 60's and unoccupied for over 20 years, so Deryck's knowledge of construction and current codes was extremely beneficial. Deryck's overall feedback was practical, honest and direct, which allowed me to effectively assess what needed to be corrected in the home, vs what could wait or was optional. I'd highly recommend Deryck and would use him again.

Very professional and focused on the work to be done, but personable as well. Provide good information about what he was doing and why, as well as the state of the structure with respect to the codes. Very respectful of property, cleaned up any debris that fell from opening the attic hatch. Very respectful to the tenant on the rental side of the property. Highly recommend Deryck.

Thanks a ton for you help. Given that this is my first home inspection, I have nothing to compare it against, which means my feedback will be of little or no value in terms of improving your services. So, unfortunately for you, my comments will be limited to lavish praise and expressions of esteem and admiration.
You are clearly a master of your craft. The 20+ years of experience you have shine through immediately during your walk-throughs. You cover each area of the home in a thorough and logical manner (literally starting from the ground up!). Each area was broken down into sub-areas that allowed us newbies to understand and digest the information quickly and easily.
Nothing seemed to be too minor or trivial for your inspection. Your attention to detail showed us you clearly cared about addressing every aspect of the home (even the parts we thought weren't important enough to take the time on) so we could make the most informed decision possible. You are so comprehensive in your report it is as if you care more about our safety and investment than we do ourselves! We walked away after the inspection feeling like you truly had our backs in pursuing this home.
You were fast going over the information with us but slowed down or stopped when we needed time to go over key areas or issues. You were patient, answered all of our questions and you were just plain easy to talk to, which, for first-time home-buyers, is harder to find in a person than you might think. Most of what we went over with you was the first time we even thought about such things in our lives, and you made it easy and comprehensible. We very much appreciated your willingness teach us the ropes, so-to-speak.
I knew you'd be professional but I didn't expect you to have an indoor and an outdoor set of shoes for your inspections! I found that to be a very, very courteous and respectful gesture towards the home owner on your part, going beyond even a high level of professionalism. You even had your own "shoe mat" to wipe off your, what I am sure are already spotless, indoor shoes. That you think of these things was more evidence to us that you really care about EVERY ASPECT of clients' potential homes.
Your demeanor was extraordinary professional and energetic the entire time (especially considering you just spent 4+ hours walking through the home). You are an extremely pleasant personality, never talking down to, over, or at us. You made us feel comfortable, confident and you made the process enjoyable.
I will use you for every single home inspection I ever need. It was truly a pleasure doing business with you.
