We have had a number of issues related to our house that professionals have told us should have come up in our home inspection. The biggest problem we had was not being told that our furnace and air conditioner were old and would soon need replacing. Three months after moving in we found ourselves in need of a new furnace to the tune of $5000. Most recently we have had an exterminator in for rodent activity and he found a gaping hole in the attic (which we saw a picture of) and also mentioned that it should have shown up on our home inspection. Of course it didn't. Our mistake was accepting the recommendation of a home inspector from the realtor and I have discovered that this is against the law in MA for a reason. Our mistake, and one that we will never repeat. We would NOT recommend Ramon for a home inspector, EVER.

I had an inspection by Ramon in August 2012 and I was initial satisfied because he seemed honest so I trusted him. After I closed on the house and had more time to look around house I had another inspection by another company and they found serveral major problems Ramon did not mention to me. He spent less than two hours on my inspection so I guess that's why so much was missed. I have major electrical problems in the basement (all he pointed out was the new panel). There is evidence of possible termites in garage that was not found by Ramon and structural issues also. I have emailed in with my disappointment but he has not responded.
Word of advice, no matter how good the house may look cosmetically do not let this inspector Rush through your inspection and make sure he do not know the seller of the house......

This was my first house and I was very nervous about going about things. Buying a house takes not only good credit but alot of guts, not to mention commitment.
I didn't realize how much there was to do when buying a new house, the classes that I had to attend,to finding the right attorney, purchasing the right home, finding a bank in which whom to trust( as well as a mortgage broker who is more than willing to explain things), and most importantly an inspector that you can not only trust, but feel comfortable talking to.
