Van Johnson did an incredible job for our family when we were looking to purchase our first home. He was very straightforward about every aspect about the house. He took us around the house dissecting the house bit by bit, explained what he was looking for, and provided an example of why he was looking for certain things. Van was extremely knowledgeable in his field and provided us with a very comprehensive report of all the shortcomings of the house. Van also went so far as to explain that while certain aspects of the house were in a reasonably good condition, they were in such a condition that it was unlikely to be at an acceptable level for the insurance company to insure the property. Van made every effort to educate, inform, and ensure we were able to make a decision we were comfortable with. Unfortunately, the house had too many problems for us to take on, but fortunately we had Van to keep us from making that mistake.

I was referred to Tiger Eye by a realtor. I called him and he was very helpful. He point out so many mistakes that the builder needs to fix. His price was very reasonable and he always validate my concerns and pointed out issues that needed to be addressed. Things that I would never have know to look for he pointed it out. After the first inspection was done; I asked him to go back for second follow-up to make sure that the builder has fixed all the issues and the violations in the house. Which he did and kept constant communication with me. He provided an extremely thorough report to a point that a can soda was in the yald and he asked the builder in his report to remove it from the yald. I was really happy with his work. We were referred to Tiger Eye by a retired Contractor. He told us this is the guy you want! He was a thorn in my side but always spot on in his inspections. We called him because we discovered a whole portion of our roof that was not shingled even though we had received the Release of Lien from the roofer. We couldn’t see it until a neighbor pointed it out to us. We called Van and he was out the next morning 15 minutes early. He already had things to point out to us when we arrived. He also discovered a portion of the roof that had no decking and the new shingles were just installed over the old shingles. There were wet spots on that area as we had had a pretty significant rain the week before. Van has been a God send!! He validated our concerns and pointed out a myriad of issues that need to be addressed. Things that we would never have know to look for. Since we hired Van, he has been out to the house twice and has been in constant contact with us. He provided an extremely thorough report to share with our General Contractor. Issues are now being dealt with by our GC. I expressed to our GC that I was really happy with the problems he found now rather than at final inspection. Our GC said that it would have been discovered at final inspection. Why would he want to wait until final inspection to discover these problems. We thought he would have been grateful to know about this now so they could be corrected. Argh!!! Van told us he will be doing spot inspections throughout the remainder of the project and will be there for for final inspection. I highly recommend this gentleman. It’s like having your Dad there to walk you though a very stressful life event. He’s extraordinarily reasonable, thorough and very knowledgeable.

I am a first-time homebuyer, and I did not understand why I needed a home inspection since it was new construction. My parents told me of some issues they encountered after closing on their new home, so I wanted to avoid those types of issues. I had an emergency at work, so my mom took over the process for me and she said, from the moment she met Mr. V. Johnson she was met with a level of professionalism. She said he spoke with a level of confidence and it gave her peace about the entire process. He showed up before his scheduled appointment time and went right to work. He forewarned my mom that he was very thorough, she said he was meticulously going throughout the entire house pointing out things that needed to be done as they moved slowly around inside, and perimeter of the house. I can say that his report reflects what she said about him being thorough. He had pictures with arrows pointing to all the areas that needed attention in his detailed inspection report.
